Marshall deputies seek man they suspect killed girlfriend

BYHALIA, Miss. (AP) – Marshall County officials seek a man they suspect killed his girlfriend.

Sheriff Kenny Dickerson tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/1oarOBW) that 65-year-old Chester Dallas Brents faces murder charges following the Friday death of Cathy Mills.

Dickerson says the 54-year-old Mills was found dead in her home, shot once in the chest, after a fight with Brents. Mills’ mother was present and called deputies.

The sheriff says he knows Brents and was “shocked” by the shooting.

Dickerson says Brents fled in Mills’ gold 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. He says officials believe Brents is somewhere between Benton County and Memphis, Tennessee. He warns Brents could remain armed with the handgun deputies believe he used in the shooting.

Brents is 6 feet tall, 190 pounds with brown eyes and thin, brown hair.
