Weather Update: 9:00 PM Sunday
The Winter Weather Advisory has been updated: It remains in effect until midnight for Lake, Obion, Weakley, Henry and Benton counties. There is a possibility for ice to continue to accumulate and cause some hazardous conditions on the roadways.
Anything that melted earlier has a chance refreeze tonight on the roadways which could lead to some patch ice. Use caution while driving first thing in the morning.
Tonight the rain and ice showers are expecting to continue and by the overnight hours all frozen precipitation is should to transition into rain. This will take us into President’s Day on a soggy note. There is a chance for an isolated thunderstorm mixed in with the rain. By Monday night, the rain should come to an end across West Tennessee.
Another, but weaker, low pressure system will push through on Tuesday giving us another chance for some rain Tuesday. It’s not looking to be as widespread but scattered showers are likely across all of the area.
Temperatures are expecting to begin a nice warming trend this week and we could see 60s back on the thermometer by Thursday!
