Teen charged with child abuse after posting shocking photo online

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A 15-year-old male juvenile is now facing charges after he posted photos on Facebook of two children bound in duct tape.

The teen is charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse in Gibson County Juvenile Court, according to a release from Gibson County Sheriff Paul Thomas.

The sheriff’s office was notified Sunday about the disturbing photos circulating online.

An investigation determined the two children in the photos were not in immediate danger. They were identified as the teen’s younger siblings, one two years old and the other six months old.

Investigators interviewed the juvenile with the help of the Department of Children’s services and he admitted to putting the tape on his siblings and taking the photos as a joke, according to the release.

The juvenile is currently living at a different location that his siblings.

A court date has not been set.
