Madison Co. sheriff holds monthly community meeting
JACKSON, Tenn.-A packed house Wednesday night at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in east Jackson as Sheriff John Mehr held his monthly community meeting.
The sheriff said he is holding these meetings throughout the county to make sure residents know what the department is doing and so he can hear the concerns of the community.
Jackson Councilman Johnny Dodd and County Commissioner Katie Brantley were also on hand tonight.
Officials said they want to know what residents are thinking about the job they are doing.
“The people in the community are our voice. We work for the community. I think we’ve got to get back to that, to let people know that we are here to lead,” said Councilman Dodd.
Dozens of people attended Wednesday night’s meeting.
