It was an intense scene for many staying at the motel especially when one the suspects ran from police and got hit by car.

Officers in full hazmat suits spent hours combing through a room at the Scottish Inn. They collected bags of evidence after a Metro Narcotics Unit raided the Motel.

“We’re working an active meth lab scene,” Jackson Police Chief Julian Wiser said. “We’ve got components of a meth lab and investigators are here processing.”

The entire motel was evacuated after police said a suspicious device was also found but after calling in the bomb squad they determined it did not pose a threat.

“They came and knocked on the door and told us that everyone had to leave,” Heather Mealer said. “I asked if I could come back and they said it was just trying to make sure it was safe.”

Police said both suspects were quickly taken in custody but had to be decontaminated by hazmat teams before being taken away in cuffs.Motel Meth Bust

“It seems like these days its getting kinda common for people to make stuff like meth in motels,” Mealer said.

The names of both of the suspects arrested in this case have not yet been released. Officers said the one who was hit by the car did not suffer any serious injuries.

Police said both suspects will likely be charged with manufacturing meth and possibly other counts.
