Officers search Jackson motel after meth-making materials found, chief says
NORTH JACKSON — Police are executing a search warrant at the Scottish Inns motel in north Jackson after meth-making materials were found, according to Jackson Police Chief Julian Wiser.
A WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News photojournalist saw a man get struck by a vehicle as he ran from police into traffic on North Highland Avenue. The man was taken into custody and did not appear to be seriously injured. According to Wiser, a second suspect is also in custody.
Wiser said officers have evacuated part of the motel as the search takes place. A bomb technician was called out after a possible explosive device was spotted. However, the tech determined it was not a threat.
