West Tenn. man shares discovery of local dinosaur fossils
HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A West Tennesse man is sharing his rare discovery of dinosaur fossils found in the area.
Amateur paleontologist Joshua Welch found the fossils in the Sardis area on the Henderson County and Hardin County line.
He exhibits the finds in a wooden display case. Welch says some are of a “duck-billed” dinosaur and have been confirmed by a university.
“The best feeling is to be able to go out and share time with my daughter and us recover things together and make history,” Welch said.
He says most of his findings will be donated to the state museum and the rest to the Henderson County Museum.
