Decatur Co. woman accused of TennCare fraud
DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. — A Decatur County woman is facing a TennCare fraud charge in nearby Henderson County related to an Adderall prescription for her son.
Brandi Tillman, 35, of Parsons is accused of fraudulently obtaining and using her minor child’s prescription for Adderall, a schedule II controlled substance often prescribed for children with attention deficit disorder, according to a release from the Office of Inspector General.
TennCare fraud is a Class E felony carrying a sentence of up to two years in prison, according to the release.
“The fraudulent misuse of prescription drugs is simply no longer being tolerated by communities and citizens, and we’re working to eradicate it from TennCare,” Inspector General Manny Tyndall states in the release. “Health care providers and local law enforcement officers across the state are working with us to investigate and prosecute these types of crimes.”
To date, more than 2,534 people have been charged with TennCare fraud, according to the release.
