Jacksin ink recruits signing dayNew students at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology of Jackson were welcomed to sign a letter of intent as part of National Signing Day.

The event is meant to resemble sign-ons for athletes playing on the college level. However, this program recognizes young adults choosing technical trades that serve the community in a different way.

“We think it’s important to recognize students that have really good technical skills, validate that and let them sign a letter of intent to go on to the next technical college that they’re going to to pursue that training even further,” said Jeff Sisk, director of TCAT of Jackson.

TCAT of Jackson signed about 20 students Thursday. More than 300 were honored for their commitments across the country.
