Mother, ex-boyfriend indicted in 2015 death of infant
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A mother and her former boyfriend have been indicted in the death of a one-year-old boy last year.
News outlets report that 26-year-old Miranda Alexis Hunt and 27-year-old Wayne D. Jones were both arrested Tuesday on numerous charges, including first-degree murder and aggravated assault in connection with the January 2015 death of Hayden Messiah Eldridge.
Metro Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron announced Wednesday that Hayden Eldridge was unresponsive when he arrived at a hospital on Jan. 21, 2015.
Authorities say Jones told officers the child an allergic reaction to shrimp, but doctors discovered brain injury and retinal hemorrhaging. A medical examiner would later determine the infant’s death was caused by blunt force trauma.
It is unclear whether either Hunt or Jones has an attorney.
