Planning begins for 3rd annual Blue Strong event

JACKSON, Tenn. — Plans began Thursday on the third annual “Blue Strong” event to honor law enforcement officers.

A Jackson committee selected to plan the Hub City’s third annual Blue Strong event met at the Civic Center.

Going forward, organizers say there will be more work done to include law enforcement from surrounding counties because they want to honor the work they do to protect and serve West Tennessee.

“We want to involve as many law enforcement officers, first responders as we can, and the purpose for all of it is to show them how much we appreciate them and to let them know that we’re here to support them,” event organizer Ann Luther said.

As another addition to Blue Strong, organizers hope to broaden the event’s focus to include first responders and firefighters.
