School leaders host Montessori program meeting

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Parents interested in the Jackson-Madison County School System’s Montessori program got their final chance Thursday to attend an information meeting.

School leaders say being able to have parents know how their school works is an integral part of everyone’s success.

“We really are involved in parent education because that’s the key component for success for our students is that the parents are involved, understand what the students are going to be doing each day, and understand the philosophy of our program,” Melinda Harris, principal of the Montessori School at Bemis, said.

The application deadline for all special programs and open enrollment within the Jackson-Madison County School System is Feb. 29.
