Men charged in motel meth lab bust appear in court
JACKSON, Tenn. — Two men charged in connection with a recent meth lab bust at a Jackson motel appeared Friday morning in court.
Kevin Small and Jonathan Young both were arraigned on multiple charges stemming from the Wednesday afternoon bust at the Scottish Inns motel on North Highland Avenue in north Jackson.
Investigators with Metro Narcotics say a tip led officers to a particular motel room. The discovery forced an evacuation and hours of investigation including bringing out the bomb squad.
Small faces charges including initiate manufacture of meth, violation of drug free school zone, and resisting stop/frisk/halt/arrest.
The charges against Young include possession of meth with intent, initiate manufacture of meth, and violation of drug free school zone.
Both have hearings scheduled March 1 in General Sessions Court. Small’s hearing is set for 1 p.m. and Young’s is set for 8:30 a.m.
