Weather Update – 10:00 p.m. Friday

Most of West Tennessee is still in the 60s tonight with only northern-most portions of the Mid-South reporting temperatures in the middle to upper 50s. No matter where in West Tennessee you are tonight, expect a mild night with light winds!

An isolated shower will be possible overnight with a slight chance for scattered rain showers through the day on Saturday. The cold front responsible for the mostly cloudy skies and chance for rain will stay north of West Tennessee tomorrow so the weather will still be mild with temperatures peaking in the mid to upper 60s and low 70s.

The cold front will finally move through West Tennessee on Sunday giving us a better chance for rain. A few thunderstorms will be possible on Sunday as well and in areas that end up encountering those storms on Sunday, we could see 0.50″ to 1″ of rain fall. Otherwise, generally less than 0.50″ of rain is forecast for West Tennessee over the weekend. The chance for rain will be lower early next week but a few scattered showers will still be possible Monday and Tuesday – especially in southwest Tennessee as cooler weather returns. We’ll be closely monitoring a separate system that will approach the area on Wednesday that could give us a better chance for rain before high pressure brings clearer skies back later on next week.

Have a wonderful weekend!
