police-lights38.jpegBrad Evans is in custody on aggravated kidnapping and aggravated domestic assault charges, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department.

According to deputies, Evans’ girlfriend contacted her mother Feb. 15 via text message and asked her to come get her but to not reply to her texts.

The mother met the woman at a local business where she told the mother she had been beaten by Evans, who was her boyfriend, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. The mother took her to the emergency room for her injuries.

While at the ER, the girlfriend told deputies she and Evans had a fight that began Saturday, Feb. 13, at the White Fern Road home where she had been living with him for about a month. She said it started when he accused her of stealing $100.

She said Evans hit her multiple times, including with a belt, and had kicked her while she was on the floor. She told deputies he threatened to kill her if she tried to leave and to burn her mother’s house down if she called the police.

The woman eventually was able to escape by jumping out a window while Evans was asleep.

Deputies photographed the woman’s injuries including two black eyes, a cut above her right eye and bruises all over her back and hips, according to the sheriff’s office.

Evans is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
