Tennesseans get free trees as part of ’50K Tree Day’

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Across the Volunteer State, people are getting free trees as a part of the state’s 50K Tree Day.

Homeowners got to choose between Oak, Redbud and flowering dogwood trees.

The goal of 50K Tree Day is to improve the environment by planting the trees while also adding to the beautification of our state.

“We are really looking forward to seeing these beautiful trees planted, flowering and growing in our community,” said Marlene Wilson with Dyer Master Gardeners.

Another 600 trees were given away at the Humboldt Police Department. Their trees were also gone within two hours.
