THP taking applications for lateral trooper class
JACKSON, Tenn.-The Tennessee Highway Patrol wants you, especially if you are already working as an officer.
The THP is now looking to fill its first-ever lateral trooper class, made up of cadets with law enforcement training and experience.
The accelerated course will last 16 weeks, down from 22 for cadets with no law enforcement experience. Qualified applicants will have to pass a physical agility test, before making it to the interview stage.
It’s an opportunity for those that are already in the field of law enforcement to come over to us and not have to completely go back through everything,” said Lt. Brad Wilbanks of the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The last day to apply for the tropper class is March 15.
