Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by vehicle

JACKSON, Tenn. — A person is hospitalized with serious injuries after they were hit by a vehicle, according to police.

Pedestrian hit photoOfficers responded around 1:40 p.m. to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the area of North Highland Avenue and West King Street, according to a release from the Jackson Police Department.

The victim was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital, according to the release.

The driver of the vehicle was one scene when officers arrived.

The incident remains under investigation.

Jackson police, the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and Emergency Medical Services responded.
