Police: Shopper fires gun after argument over checkout line
GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) – Police arrested a customer of a Family Dollar store after they say she fired a weapon following an argument with another shopper.
The Sun Herald reports that Gulfport police arrested 40-year-old Tamika Nicole Guy on Sunday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Sgt. Damon McDaniel says the incident stemmed from an argument about whose turn it was in the checkout line.
McDaniel says Guy went to her car to retrieve the gun after the argument and fired a shot in the parking lot. No one was injured.
She was taken to the county jail and released after bail was posted.
It’s unclear if she has an attorney.
