Springing forward brings other reminders
JACKSON, Tenn. — It’s almost time to push those clocks ahead, but there are some other reminders to check as you shift one hour forward.
When it comes time to spring forward, fire officials across Tennessee said it’s a great opportunity to check your smoke alarm.
They recommend to check not only the batteries but also how old the alarm is. If you’ve had it longer than 10 years, experts say it’s time to swap out.
Nearly 80% of Tennessee’s fire deaths in 2015 took place in a home without a smoke alarm.
The time will officially change at 2 A.M. Sunday.
