TNReady testing begins in Jackson-Madison Co. schools

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Students across the Jackson-Madison County School System began taking the TNReady exam Tuesday morning.

TNReady testing beginsAfter February’s online testing malfunction, the Tennessee Department of Education announced students across the state would return to paper testing.

In Jackson-Madison County, we’re told students in third through eighth grade started testing Tuesday without any issues.

“Our teachers stepped up and did a great job,” Catherine Korth, JMCSS leader of assessments, said. “Once they knew the tests weren’t going to be online, they got the kids familiar with what it would look like on paper and pencil. So they’ve been real troupers making sure they can do everything that they can to make sure the kids can do their very best.”

Testing ends Thursday with make-up exams on Friday morning before the district goes on spring break.
