Local high schools agriculture class has plants for sale

JACKSON, Tenn. — It’s not your average high school class.  But at Liberty Technology Magnet High School some students get to spend part of their day in a greenhouse.

Their plants and greenery fit for any yard or flowerbed are already in bloom and up for sale.  All the proceeds go right back to the school.

“As we sell, they get that public relations part of agriculture, too,” said Teresa Crouse, Agriculture Instructor.  “We also sell fish and all that money goes back into our program.”  Crouse went on to say the program has become self-sustaining.  Each years sales go to pay for the next year’s supplies.

You can purchase items from Liberty Tech’s agriculture program from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., any day school is in session.
