Office Depot in Jackson to close in May
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Office Depot retail store in Jackson will be closing in May, according to the company’s public relations department.
The store, located at 2151 North Highland Avenue, will close on May 14, according to senior public relations manager Julianne Embry.
Office Depot and OfficeMax merged in 2013. The OfficeMax store located at 157 Stonebrook will still be in business.
“While we do not disclose the number of associates who may be impacted, we will do everything we can to help them by providing eligible associates with a severance package and other company subsidized benefits,” Embry says in a prepared statement. “Also, where possible, we are working with our associates to identify open opportunities in our neighboring stores or in other areas within the company.”
Office Depot announced in 2014 that the company planned to close around 400 stores across the country.
