Woman charged with attempted murder in stabbing

JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman is facing an attempted murder charge after a confrontation that reportedly ended with another woman being stabbed.

Police say Johnetra Raychelle Person confronted another woman March 15 outside Guardian Courts Apartments on Hollywood Drive.

The woman told police Person accused her of picking on her, pointed a knife at her face and said “leave me alone or I’m going to kill you,” according to court papers.

The woman told police she hit Person out of fear of being cut and that they began to fight.

Witnesses told police they saw the two arguing in the apartment complex courtyard and that Person was swinging a knife at the other woman.

The victim suffered cuts on her chin, chest, leg and fingers, according to court papers.

Police say Person admitted to stabbing the woman.

Person is being held in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
