The West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex hosted the Skyzone March Madness Tournament consisting of 87 teams competing in baseball and softball tournaments.

Teams from five different states braved the cold to compete for the title.

“A lot of people in the park this weekend enjoying themselves even though it’s been a little chilly but it’s been a terrific tournament and we appreciate everyone coming to the sportsplex from 5 different states this weekend,” baseball director Ron Barry said.

The Jackson Chamber predicts that around 5,000 people were at the tournament with each visitor spending nearly $200 if they stayed overnight, leaving a large economic boost for the area.
