Fund created for daughter of fallen deputy Matthew Doty

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Sheriff John Mehr has announced the creation of a benefit fund for the daughter of Matthew Doty, the deputy who was killed March 13 in a motorcycle wreck.

The fund has been created at the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation and will help with Taylor Doty’s higher education needs, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

Donations can be made online at www.wth.org/foundation. Contributions should be made to “Taylor Doty Fund.”

“Taylor Doty Fund” should be written on the check’s memo line.

Deputy Matthew Doty began his service at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office as a Reserve Deputy in 2011, according to the department. He became a full-time employee in 2012.
