Officials identify body of man found floating on lake

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Officials have identified the man whose body was found floating on a lake.

Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office deputies tell local news outlets that they identified the man as 32-year-old Christopher Faidley of Blountville.

The body was discovered by a fisherman Saturday morning in Boone Lake. The Kingsport Lifesaving Crew and the Bluff City Rescue Squad recovered the body from the water, which was then taken to a medical center for an autopsy.

Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Leslie Earhart says Faidley was involved in a run-in with the law in January. She says an officer tried to pull Faidley over for driving on a suspended license, but he sped off. Officials later found Faidley’s car crashed into an embankment in Blountville, but weren’t able to find Faidley.

Officials haven’t determined the cause of death.
