Beech Bluff firefighters to hold annual BBQ fundraiser this weekend

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — A tasty tradition of more than 20 years will fire up again Saturday morning as the Madison County Volunteer Fire Department in Beech Bluff is hosting its annual barbecue fundraiser.

Madison County Fire Department truckThe crew is cooking up chicken and bologna to help raise money to finish one of their renovation projects and to help fund other community efforts.

Firefighters say they’ll start selling the barbecue around 11 a.m. at the fire station and will sell all afternoon or until they run out. Chicken will cost $6 per half and bologna will cost $5 per pound.

“We raise money to support our fire station, and any other things beyond which the county furnishes for us the community has to provide,” Capt. David Thompson said. “So this is one of our fundraisers that we do to have extra money to do community projects and do other things to help out in the neighborhood.”
