FHU students safe at home from Belgium after Brussels attacks
HENDERSON, Tenn.-A group of 19 Freed-Hardeman University students are safe in West Tennessee after their plans for a semester of study in Europe were cut short by the Brussels attacks. The group flew into Nashville International Airport earlier Tuesday.
Many of the students were actually en route back to Belgium when the attacks happened and had been traveling in other parts of Europe during a free travel period.
The university said they canceled the remainder of the trip after careful consideration.
