JMCSS looking to hire with Talent Discovery Days
JACKSON, Tenn. — Looking for work? The Jackson-Madison County School System is hiring.
“Bring your A-game, because we are looking to hire people,” JMCSS Chief Human Capital Officer Tiffany Green said.
The district will host the first of two scheduled Talent Discovery Days Saturday at the School Service Center on North Parkway.
Green said principals will have booths set up with information about each school. “We’re always looking for math teachers,” she said. “We’re always looking for science teachers, high school science teachers, chemistry in particular, high school math in particular.”
Green said right now they have about 20 positions that need to be filled for next year, but that number is constantly changing.
In 2014, the district confirmed it started school with more than a dozen teacher vacancies. Green said they hire early now. “We started the process last year, and we wanted to continue this because we never want to have another year like that,” she said.
The district encourages interested applicants to bring their resume Saturday and be prepared to interview on site. The event Saturday runs from 9 a.m. to noon.
The school system will host another Talent Discovery Day on Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to noon at the School Service Center on North Parkway.
