4th annual “Month of Miracles” kicks off to promote volunteerism

JACKSON, Tenn.-A springtime tradition continued Friday as the fourth annual “Month of Miracles” kicked off in the Hub City.

The “Month of Miracles” was created by the City of Jackson to encourage everyone to help make their community a better place through acts of volunteerism. The initiative helps participants find a volunteer activity that suits their skill set, in hopes that they will continue to help with the community’s growth for future generations.

“People needed to get connected and people wanted to get out and make a difference in the community, so we came up with this initiative. So here we are 4 years later, so it’s proven to be affective,” said Monique Merriweather, with Jackson Neighborhood Services.
