Fruitland Fire Department hosts annual BBQ fundraiser
GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Helicopters, K-9s, and Barbecue drew out dozens today to support their local first responders.
The Fruitland Fire Department hosted their annual barbecue fundraiser.
They said around 150 people came out for lunch, as well as a raffle and silent auction to help the fire department.
Kids were also able to climb and learn about medical helicopters and the fire trucks. The department said this is the biggest fundraiser of the year.
“We take that money then, where we can keep the station upgraded and make any repairs that we need to make as far as the building is concerned and we return it sometimes to the families if they have a problem,” Chief Charles Estes said.
