Memphis man arrested in Super Bowl Sunday double killing
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a Memphis double homicide.
Memphis police tell local media that 22-year-old Randolyn Smith has been arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of Muhammad El-Amin and Cameron Stokes.
Police found El-Amin and Stokes shot to death the night of Feb. 7 inside a Nissan Maxima in the Fox Meadows neighborhood. Police say the two spoke with someone on the phone and arranged a meeting the night before they were killed.
Investigators also say the two victims had just attended a Super Bowl party.
According to a police report, Smith got away from the murder with drugs and cash.
Stokes’ older brother Curtis Stokes was shot dead in November 2013. In April 2015, Cameron Stokes’ 15-year-old sister Cateria Stokes was fatally shot while she was sleeping.
