Man indicted on charges from November jail riot
JACKSON, Tenn. — A local man was indicted Wednesday morning on aggravated riot and vandalism charges stemming from an incident at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex.
Ricardo Johnson and others are accused of causing $15,000 to $20,000 worth of damages during a riot that happened in November of 2015.
Sheriff John Mehr blames the jail being overcrowded for the incident.
At the time, 308 inmates were at the jail, which is about five above capacity.
