Hearing rescheduled for men charged in Jackson police chase

JACKSON, Tenn. — A court appearance for two of the three suspects accused of leading police on a chase through midtown Jackson has been rescheduled.

John Martin and Sangria Baker each face multiple counts including drug, firearm and evading arrest charges. They initially were scheduled to appear Thursday.

Baker is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond and Martin on a $300,000 bond.

The hearing was rescheduled for next Thursday.

A juvenile is also charged in the chase.

Police said they were trying to serve a warrant on a juvenile for attempted murder around 3:45 p.m. March 29 on Stanfill Drive when Baker took off driving with the juvenile and Martin in the vehicle.

Police said they found Martin and Baker hiding under vehicles in a garage on Walnut Street and the juvenile on Campbell Street.
