Andrew Jackson Marathon hits streets this weekend

JACKSON, Tenn. — Runners participating in the Andrew Jackson Marathon will hit the streets Saturday morning in north Jackson.

The marathon’s course is laid out over northwest Jackson and begins and ends on the campus of Union University.

The marathon begins at 7 a.m., and the half marathon begins as 7:30. The 5K run starts at 8 a.m.

“It’s really special. It just shows that we have people coming from all over the United States to Jackson, Tennessee, to help support the kids in our community,” marathon director Julie McMahon said.

The Andrew Jackson Marathon is the oldest marathon in the state of Tennessee.
