Hundreds attend 3rd Annual Denim and Pearls
Money raised to help fund the Wo/Men's Resource and Rape Assistance Program
JACKSON, Tenn. — Saturday the West Tennessee community gathered to make difference for survivors of domestic and sexual violence
About 400 people filled the Carl Perkins Civic Center for the Wo/Men’s Resource and Rape Assistance Program’s 3rd Annual Denim and Pearls.
There was live music and a silent auction all to raise money to fund WRAPS mission to help people leave domestic situations.
“This is kind of an opportunity for me to say thank you and let their donors know that the people who utilize their services truly do appreciate it,” said domestic violence survivor Sandi Ililonga.
“It’s very important for WRAP to get ourselves out there to let people know WRAP is there and to make people aware of he services we offer and the needs they have,” said WRAP Board member Joseph Ross.
Mike Walker and friends also performed.
WRAP is celebrating 40 years as a nonprofit organization.
