Old Hickory Rotary Club awards local students with scholarships

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Old Hickory Rotary Club of Jackson awarded some of the area’s brightest students with college scholarships.

Students from North Side, South Side, Jackson Christian and Madison Academic received a $1,000 scholarship. The ceremony was held Monday during the civic club’s weekly meeting.

The Rotary Club says its members look forward to giving away the scholarships every year.

“It’s very expensive to go to college and beyond, and this is just one small step to help them reach their goals in life,” Old Hickory Rotary Club President Tim Wilson said.

The scholarship recipients plan to attend schools including the University of Memphis, Union University and Jackson State Community College.
