3 denied bond in Mississippi meth case

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) – Three people arrested during an investigation of an alleged meth supplier’s plan to attend spring break in Mississippi have been denied bond.

The Sun Herald reports 36-year-old Tosh Humphrey, of Slidell, Louisiana, and 40-year-old Roy Tatum, of Palestine, Texas, were on probation for federal convictions and had failed to report to a probation supervisor as ordered.

Authorities say Humphrey, Tatum and 36-year-old Chiquita Acker, of Pearlington, Mississippi, each tested positive for drug use.

U.S. Magistrate Judge John Gargiulo ordered a grand jury review in a hearing Tuesday.

The three were arrested Friday, the day the Biloxi Beach Black Weekend began.

As agents tried to enter Acker’s home for a search, they heard the toilet flushing. An agent later broke a drain pipe and collected three 5-gallon buckets of liquid that tested positive for meth.
