Beech Bluff Elementary to host community celebration

BEECH BLUFF, Tenn. — Beech Bluff Elementary School will be open to the public for an upcoming event meant to allow the community to visit the school before it closes under Vision 2020.

Beech Bluff Elementary community dayThe Back to Beech Bluff School and Community Celebration will take place Saturday, April 23.

The schedule will include a 5K Tiger Trot from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Starting at 10:30 a.m., guests will share memories in the school gym.

From 11:15 a.m. to noon, there will be a meet and greet along with tours of the school.

At 12:15, there will be a family-style picnic, and guests are encouraged to bring picnic baskets and blankets. In case of bad weather, this will take place in the cafeteria.

The school will be open until 2 p.m. for friends and families to visit and reminisce.

As a result of the school board’s controversial Vision 2020 vote, Beech Bluff Elementary will close at the end of the school year along with Jackson Central-Merry High School, West Middle School, Nova Elementary School and Malesus Elementary School.
