Crockett County New Girls Head Coach

ALAMO, TENN — Crockett County found themselves their new Girls Head Basketball Coach. Kayla Irvin was announced earlier in the week, but she said she’s already thinking big for the girls next season.

“Starting this next week like I said again is getting in the weight room, put that time in, I want to set a standard early of hard work and discipline and mental toughness,” said Irvin.

The team will be young next season, only returning a handful of juniors but Irvin is optimistic with the big freshmen class coming in next fall. She plans to get them to work as soon as possible.

“We’ll have have a new team this year. We didn’t have any seniors, but we have some eighth graders moving up that’ll change the dynamics of our team a little bit, said Irvin. “You know right now we want to work in the weight room, get strong and develop those things and see how that works in a big picture for our whole team.”

Coach Irvin will handle being a full time coach, while raising her newborn, finding a way to balance the both, but make sure the girls team is on a path towards success.
