Dozens of high schoolers graduate from Leadership University
JACKSON, Tenn.-Dozens of future West Tennessee leaders add another accomplishment to their resumes. 35 high school students graduated from Leadership University, a community youth leadership development program.
The eight-month program is designed to identify students with leadership potential and develop those skills.
Their work included 63 classroom hours and 12 hours of community service.
“It takes a lot of time, it takes a lot of effort on top of the schoolwork they’re already completing, on top of their jobs, on top of all the other jobs teenagers have to do. This is a lot to ask of them,” said Brad Keltner, chaiman of Leadership University.
The participating students are from public and private schools in Jackson-Madison County, as well as home-schooled students.
