Jackson Theatre Guild to hold auditions for summer musical ‘Guys and Dolls’
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Theatre Guild will hold auditions for their summer musical, “Guys and Dolls,” in arrangement with Music Theatre International.
Auditions for the show will take place May 7 through May 10 in the upstairs rehearsal room at Old City Hall, located at 314 East Main Street, according to a release.
No prior experience is necessary, and there are diverse roles for ages 15 and older.
The auditions will take place at 1 p.m. May 7 and at 6 p.m. May 9 and 10.
Those trying out are asked to have a brief musical number prepared for auditions. The piece doesn’t need to be from the show. Bring sheet music for the provided accompanist or a CD.
Anyone auditioning should arrive 15 minutes early and wear comfortable clothing and shoes in which you can move and dance.
The show dates will be July 14-17, and actors must be able to rehearse from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and on some Saturdays.
Becky Fly will direct the show, and the music directors will be Benjamin and Christina Duffey. Choreography will be by Renee Brooks.
