Madison Co. depts. make proposals to capital committee

JACKSON, Tenn.-County department heads make proposals, Thursday to the Madison County Capital Committee.
From needs at the library to the county sanitation department, the presentations were for items several county offices say they would like for improvements in the next fiscal year.

Among those—the county technology department said a new phone line and servers are needed.
The health department requested money for two air conditioning units, while the county fire department would like to add to its fleet.

“This year we come before you asking for three vehicles, two of those being tankers,” said Chief Eric Turner with the Madison County Fire Department.

Chief Turner said two of the trucks will be replacements for engines with more than a combined half a million miles on them.
He said an additional truck would be used for a new station.

Capital chairman Billy Spain said the request will be taken into consideration once the commission knows exactly how much money will be in the budget.
