Police: Man charged with hepatitis exposure after spitting in officer’s face

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man who allegedly spit into a police officer’s face is now charged with possibly exposing him to hepatitis C.

According to court papers, Wesley Langford spit into an officer’s face as the officer tried to restrain him after Langford tried to headbutt another officer.

Langford’s blood was tested at the request of the officer and tested positive for hepatitis C, according to police.

Langford is being held in lieu of a $40,000 bond.
