Witnesses testify in deadly east Jackson shooting

JACKSON, Tenn. — An accused killer appeared Thursday in Jackson City Court.

Trimon Pruitt is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Tony Willoughby.

Two of Pruitt’s alleged fellow gang members took the stand to testify against him in the December homicide.

The two professed Vice Lord gang members testified that Pruitt shot Willoughby near Allenton Heights over a violation within the street gang.

After hearing the testimony, the judge sent the case on to the grand jury.
