Retiring veterans honored at local VFW for decades of service
JACKSON, Tenn. — Two of our nation’s heroes were honored Sunday afternoon for decades of service to our country.
Chief Warrant Officer 3 Tony Wiggins has served for 32 years and just got back from a deployment in Kosovo, and Staff Sergeant Christ Richardson served 23 years with two deployments in Iraq.
VFW Post 6496 held a retirement party for the veterans filled with music, dancing, and encouraging words.
“I think it means a lot to a solider now it keeps them driving on it makes them now have a problem with going into battle or anything because they know they have support,” CW3 Tony Wiggins said.
During the celebration organizers also honored all vets who have served our county, and talked about how important it is to welcome them and thank them for giving their all.
