Woman accused of spraying Walmart employee with Mace charged with ID theft
JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman accused of spraying a Walmart employee with Mace is now facing an additional charge of identity theft after police say she provided someone else’s name when she was arrested.
Brandie Allen is charged with identity theft, aggravated assault and theft over $500. When Allen was arrested on April 14, she told officers her name was Amanda Foose and was initially charged under that name.
Police say she provided the name and birth date of Foose but gave an incorrect Social Security number. Officers say Foose apparently lives in Missouri.
Allen was arrested around 6 p.m. April 14 when police responded to a report of shoplifters at Walmart in north Jackson, according to court documents.
When officers arrived, Allen had sprayed a loss prevention employee with Mace. The employee was outside the store where she was still trying to stop Allen from leaving.
Police say Allen had been caught on camera pushing merchandise through the self-checkout and out of the store without paying.
The employee tried to stop Allen when she had passed all points of sale, and police say that’s when Allen sprayed the woman with Mace.
The total value of the stolen property is listed as $758.
