Madison Co. Budget Committee requests input from school system

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Madison County Budget Committee met Wednesday as they continue to work on building a budget for the next fiscal year.

Madison County Budget MeetingMembers took an overall view of how funds could be allocated in the next budget.

The committee also voted to request budget questions from the school system, such as where the savings for Vision 2020 will be coming from and how it will be used and to have a list of the capital projects.

They say having the list will help them know how they can best use their funds.

“It’s really not affecting their maintenance of effort at this point,” Budget Committee Chairman Doug Stevenson said. “It does help us to figure out what we want to do capital-wise for them with the money that we have available to work with.”

The budget committee will meet again at 10:30 a.m. next Monday.

The new budget has to be approved twice by July 1.
