Volunteers pitch in with Pinson Mounds cleanup on Earth Day

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Those honoring Earth Day descended on a Madison County landmark to help clean up.

Pinson Mounds cleanupVolunteers spent most of their day at Pinson Mounds, taking advantage of Friday’s beautiful weather by cleaning up at the park just off Highway 45.

Participants say lending a hand helps them appreciate the gifts of nature even more.

“We try to give back to the environment, appreciation of what we have, parks in our area, and we try to help beautify and take care of things ups here,” said Chris Street with the USDA of Jackson.

Friday’s cleanup concluded with their very own Earth Day celebration.
